With over 25 years of experience, Daniel has consulted and managed systems and transformation activities for systems exceeding a billion dollars. He provides a depth of experience with federal, state, and private-sector information technology (IT) and cyber security. Daniel works closely with executive teams to provide business and technical expertise in understanding and meeting IT and security requirements, business needs, processes, and constraints.
Daniel has held several roles in the private and public sector, lately creating new business products and consulting for Apollo. Previously Daniel was Texas’ Cybersecurity Coordinator with the Department of Information Resources (DIR), Director of Security for the State’s data centers, and managed the nation’s largest Identity and Access Management team. Daniel has led multiple initiatives, including operationalizing the Texas Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (TxISAO), chaired the Texas Cybersecurity Council, and provided recommendations on legislation necessary to implement cybersecurity best practices and remediation strategies for the state.
In addition, Daniel is on the Computer and Information Technology Advisory Committee for Lone Star College, External Advisory Board member for Bowie State University’s Computer Science Department, and an Advisory Board Member for the Liberty Medical Center of Texas. He has a Bachelor of IT Management and a Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
